Matt Lerch - Mako
Status - Sold
This is the Mako by Matt Lerch. This knife features a hand rubbed satin finished triple grind blade of 154CPM steel, multi finished Titanium frame; on the sides there is a satin finish and Timascus inlays, on the stepped edges near the rear of the frame there is a blasted finish as well as on the edges of the frame, on the broken edges around most of the circumference it is polished. The frame lock has a hardened lockbar insert, over travel protection, and an Adjustable Detent (yes, you read that correctly, you can adjust the detent with a .027 allen wrench. The detent is actually a shaft that is radiused on the end and can be adjusted to customize the tension of the detent to allow a softer or firmer flipping action! Wow!). The Titanium pivot lock nut and grooved back spacer are heat colored and there is a lanyard hole integrated into the top rear of the back spacer and rear of the frame to top off the package. This is an exceptional piece!
Matt is a long time Top Tier Art Knife maker who has won numerous awards over the years and developed and patented various knife mechanisms. His Art Knives sell in the $10k range. Matt was, for many years, a part time maker who has now become full time having retired from a full time job at Harley Davidson. Matt only does a few shows each year and generally sells all his knives via lottery. This is his new tactical model (his primary focus will continue to be Art Knives) made with the same meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful features as his high end art pieces. Matt intends to only produce a limited number of these tactical knives so this is a great piece to acquire now.
