Custom Bertie Rietveld knife. Here is a really cool and interesting knife, Bertie Rietveld’s Tweeter model of which only 28 were made. This knife features Bertie's own Stainless Damascus blade, gold anodized bolsters, Mother-of-Pearl scales and anodized fittings. This knife has a couple unusual features, first is the opening mechanism, it is a button lock and release. When you depress the Pearl button the blade pops open about a 1/4" ( The 3rd picture below shows the knife closed, the 4th photo shows the blade poped up allowing it to be grasped and opened completely). To close the knife depress the button and close normally. The knife's name, Tweeter, came from the sound the knife makes when you depress the button to open the knife and, when open, it looks sort of like a bird.
The other unusual feature of this knife is the makers mark. Bertie's makers mark is within a Stanhope lens where a lanyard might be on a normal knife. The lens contains an image with Bertie's name and an African Elephant. Hold the lens up to the light and look through it (see the bottom 2 pictures, the image is magnified when you hold it up to your eye for viewing).
