David is a full time practicing Orthodontist (over 40 years) in Winona, Minnesota and a part-time knifemaker.  David first became interested in knives as a collector and in 2009 met Tony Bose at the Blade Show where they became friends.  Tony is the person that sparked David’s interest in knifemaking and became a mentor to David.  David makes great traditional style slip joints, many with his own special twist and with some interesting materials.
