Don started making knives as a hobby back in the 1980s. About 1990 Don started to make knives full time. Initially Don did only fixed blade knives but in 1994 he began doing folders in traditional patterns including the Sunfish which became his trademark, Sunfish Forge. Don began to making more designs and also started to make art knives, automatics even gold knives. Around 2003 Don began making hand forged knives in carbon steel as well as Damascus. Don has gained tremendous recognition for his work, he is known for his Damascus, his use of mammoth (Don always has the best) and his great designs. Don's waiting list is several years.
