Frank Edwards - Spider Knife

This is an outstanding sole authorship (Frank made the knife, the Damascus and he did the engraving!) art knife from Frank Edwards d/b/a Edwards Knives. This liner locking knife features a blade of "Fyllo" Damascus which is a multi-bar Damascus made by Frank with a mix of 1084 and 15n20 steels, the blade rides on nylon washers and utilizes a .125-inch stainless steel pivot, opening is accomplished via three 18kt Gold Dellana Dots, the detent ball is stainless. Additional features of this work of art are hidden pivot screws, 24kt Gold accents which follow the grind/plunge lines, the scales are 416 stainless steel with Mother of Pearl shining through the hand cut spider window, the spider web is four feet of 24kt Gold wire inlaid flush with a raised 24kt Gold border, fine hammered texture was added to the edges. The liners are 15n20 that is file worked and nitre colored. The back bar is engraved inside and out (something you rarely see) with a running wheat pattern, the inner side holds the maker’s signature. All the screws are stainless and have been hand file worked, and heat colored to a gold finish to compliment the gold engraving and liners.  This knife is an excellent value considering all the work that went into it.
 
This "spider Knife" is the first of a small series that Frank plans to make. This piece is new direct from the maker, received at the 2023 Solvang Knife Show.
